I wrote, designed, arranged the printing, and will be handling publication and distribution for Cascades Rock. I grew up in Washington state where I first became passionate about mountains and climbing. I’ve climbed extensively in the Cascades, as well as around the world. With a dad who was a newspaper editor and an English teacher for a mother, I have no ecxuses for any typos in this book. I’ve written articles for Alpinist, Climbing, and Rock&Ice magazines, as well as numerous websites and newspapers. I’m also an unashamed crossword addict. You can keep track of my latest adventures at BlakeClimbs.Blogspot.com. This is my first book.
I live in Leavenworth, WA with my wife Allison. I thank her for her patience with my climbing obsession, her ability to endure marathon editing sessions, and her encouragement to pursue this project, which have made the guidebook possible.  We enjoy cooking (and eating) good food, skiing, road biking, and climbing together.

Beyond the Cascades, I have climbed long classic ice routes in the Canadian Rockies, Spanish limestone pitches up to 5.13b, and have teamed up with partners to establish new alpine climbs in Patagonia, Alaska, BC, and Colorado. I’ve served as a volunteer with the American Alpine Club, Washington Climbers Coalition, and Leavenworth Mountain Association.
